Silent Way
Tracklist
Now an international electronica star, Saitama, Japan's Shinichi Atobe again supplies radical new beat technologies on Silent Way, sure to cause a stir, since it arrives nearly two decades on from his enigmatic debut through Berlin dub advisors Chain Reaction. Then came 2014's 'Butterfly Effect', where perhaps that record's wing-flaps caused this one's cyclone: though if storm warnings are to feature in the shipping forecast, this can only be the fan reaction. The music is, by contrast, characteristically subdued and easy-does-it, perfect relaxant sheeting for the coming spring; glistering bell chimes and solvent hip-hop basslines max out the mix, drifting fumously through patient urb-ambient styles, from 'Fractual' to 'Aquarius', greenery covering the scenery.
