Pretty Thing
Rock 'n' roll starts here. Originally released in 1958 on Chess Records, Bo Diddley gathers the pioneering guitarist's earliest singles into one of the genre's true cornerstones. Built around the unmistakable "Bo Diddley beat", a syncopated rhythm drawn from Afro-Cuban clave, it delivers era-defining cuts 'Bo Diddley', 'I'm A Man', 'Hey! Bo Diddley' and 'Pretty Thing', dubs that would shape all from The Rolling Stones to punk and hip-hop producers decades later. This edition arrives as part of the Chess Acoustic Sounds Series, a run of audiophile reissues drawn from the legendary Chicago label's catalogue.
